PLOUSE, Robert F. Sr. "Dutch"
Age 59, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his family. Bob was born on June 29, 1949 in Sayre, PA. He was the son of the late Leroy and Margaret (Lydic) Plouse, Sr. Bob attended the East Smithfield School, and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. While in the Army he was a communications lineman. After his service to his country, Bob worked for General Electric, Trinity Foundry, Agway, and most recently as a maintenance man for the department of Buildings and Grounds for Chemung County. Bob loved the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and liked riding four wheelers. He was a member of the Big Flats American Legion. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sharyl D. (Murray) Plouse, whom he married on December 19, 1981; his sons, Robert F. (Tracy) Plouse, Jr. of Hubert, NC, and Brian Wayne (Jennifer) Plouse of Ft. Bragg, NC; his daughter, Brenda Sue Luda of Centerville, OH; his granddaughter, Ashley Marie Plouse; his brothers, Leroy Plouse, Jr. of Sayre, PA, Vine (Sally) Plouse of Waverly, NY, Bill (Brenda) Plouse of Gillett, PA, Don (Linda) Plouse of Gillett, PA, and Ernest (June) Plouse of Sayre, PA; his sisters, Marion Clark of Corning, NY, Grace Lee of Columbia Crossroads, PA, and Jennifer (Gary) Schrader of East Smithfield, PA; along with several nieces and nephews. His parents, and his sister, Edith Frisbie, preceded Bob in death. Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. The funeral service to honor Bob's life will be held at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. James Carr officiating. The Chemung County Honor Guard will give Military Rites at the funeral following the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to the Bath VA Medical Center, 76 Veterans Ave., Bath, NY 14810; or to Bob's family at 3374 Lower Maple Ave., Lot 170, Elmira, NY 14901, to help defray the funeral cost. Aunt Sharyl,
Just got the word about Uncle Dutch and I am so sorry for your loss. I would have been there had anyone called! I will miss him so much! All his e-mail jokes! I still have letters packed away that he wrote me while he was in the service when I was in grade school. Love you, Sorry again that I werent there.

I am very sorry to hear about Uncle Bob. He will be missed by all. Even though I haven't seen him in a few years I will always remember him.

SHARYL AND FAMILY,
WE HAVE LOST A BIG PART OF OUR LIVES. DUTCH WILL BE MISSED BY MANY. AS MY BROTHER GROWING UP WE GOT INTO MUCH TROUBLE. MY MEMORIES HAVE FLOWED BACK INTO MY MIND. I LAUGH AND I CRY.
AND WILL MISS HIM VERY MUCH
WILL MISS THE TIMES HE WOULD POP IN FOR COFFEE. BEFOR HE WENT ON HIS WAY TO VISIT THE REST OF HIS FAMILY.ALWAYS HAD A BIG SMILE AND A JOKE OR TWO TO TELL. AND I KNOW MOM AND DAD AND SIS WILL TAKE GOOD CARE
