STEVES, Dale J.
66, of Gillett, PA, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Robert Packer Hospital following a brief illness. He was born July 28, 1941 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Russell Steves and Kathleen Tenent-Soklowski. Dale served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the South Creek Lions Club. Dale was previously employed by Corning Concrete, General Electric, C.F. Evans Roofing and retired from The Elmira Star-Gazette. He is predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Maynard and Thomas Steves. Dale is survived by one son, Scott (Patricia) Steves of Sayre, PA; and one daughter, Dayle Lynn (Paul) Steves-Wright of Troy, PA; his grandchildren, Jenna Lynn King, Skylar Ward King, Allexa Rae King, Pamela Rumsey, Chuck Rumsey and Angela Rumsey; five great-grandchildren; his siblings, Gene Steves, Ronald (Sharon) Steves, Lois (David) Southard, Janice (Bob Brown) Halstead and Sharon Steves; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Montour Cemetery in Montour Falls, NY. Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Lowery Funeral Home, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA to be applied to expenses.
