Steve Meshula Obituary
Age 89, of Galeton, PA, died Friday, July 25, 2008, in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA. Born December 31, 1918 in Germania, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Senko) Meshula. On October 27, 1962 in Galeton, he married the former Angeline Close, who predeceased him in 1997. Steve worked at Dresser Rand in Wellsboro for many years, retiring in 1981. He was a Life Member of the Galeton Moose and an avid fisherman and gardener. Surviving are two daughters, Anna M. (Scott) Hockenbury of Phillipsburg, NJ and Carol L. (Thomas) Surdam of Galeton; a grandson, Steven Bobeck; a sister, Stella Fedorka of Culver, PA; his cherished pet, Nittany; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Monday, July 28, 2008, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton and on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with a Blessing Service following at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Dougherty officiating. Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Germania Fire Company.
