Nicholas Burt Obituary
Entered this world on January 29, 2005, touched many lives, brought laughter and now leaves a wonderful memory when he left on August 4, 2008 at the age of 3. He was cherished by his mother and father, Daniel C. & Nicole A. Matkosky Burt, Big Flats along with Nicholas' twin brother, Michael. Maternal family, grandparents, Sue & Steve Matkosky, Catlin; great grandparents, Roy & Gert Fitzsimmons, Catlin; and Marguerite Guinane, Clifton Park; aunt, Amanda Matkosky, Catlin. Paternal family, Sandra & Richard Burt, Moneta, VA; great grandmothers, Dorothy Burt, Big Flats, and Beverly Jelliff, Tioga, Pa; uncle, Gregory Burt, Charlotte, NC and many other family members and friends. Nicholas was born with obstacles which never held back his enthusiasm. At his young age he had undergone 17 surgeries and set a shining example of courage and determination. He brought a lifetime of happiness to those he touched. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Wednesday evening, August 6, 2008 between the hours of 6-8 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow at 8:15 p.m. with the Reverend Robert Adkins officiating. Graveside services will take place at the families' convenience in Rural Home Cemetery, Big Flats. Memorials may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House, 1901 Rockland Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803 in his memory.

I heard so many great stories about your little guy when Amanda and I worked together about your little boy. We used to compare stories about the kids at work. I offer my sincere condolences to the family of Nicholas Roy Burt. I am a co-worker of his Grandfather Steve Matkosky. I have been fortunate to work with Steve at Streeter Associates. Steve is so proud of his grandsons as was evident in the pictures etc. that he displayed. He was so happy when his daugther and family came home to live in this area. Having very recently lost my father I can understand your grief. What you will find is that the love of Nicholas will shine through each and every day of your lives and his memory will reside in each of you.
