Raymond Hughson Obituary
75, of Milan RR 1, Smithfield Twp., PA, left to join his family and God in Heaven, Wednesday morning, August 6, 2008, from his home following declining health. His wife, Sylvia; five children, Garth Paul Hughson and his wife Candace of Erin, NY, Raymond Max Hughson and his wife Karen of Erin, NY, Pamela Lynne Walker and her husband Steve of Mascot, TN, Yvonne Leigh Jackson and her husband Kevin of Knoxville, TN, Michelle Ruth Clark and her husband Keith of Wyalusing, PA; 17 grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Hughson and Joyce Hughson; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Albert and Frederick Hughson; and nephew, Christopher Hughson. The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 10, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Bowen-Farr Funeral Home, 6 Gordon Farr St., Ulster, PA. Interment will be in the Hornbrook Cemetery, Sheshequin Twp., PA. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 2425 Stockton Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95817 or to the charity or organization of one's choice in Raymond Garth Hughson's memory.

Sylvia and family - Even though we didn't see a lot of each other over the years you were always in our minds and memories of the good times we had in the 50's. Sylvia, I always remember how much you loved motorcycles and that was why I introduced you to Garth because he loved them too. Was happy to stand up with you two when you got married all those years ago. As our families grew and our lives got busy it was harder and harder to get together. So sorry for you loss, I know he suffered and is in a better place than we are now. Love - Sy & Lil

We have lived miles apart for the past 35 years, but we have fond memories of Garth & Sylvia. We spent many evenings with them playing cards so late that we just had a sleep-over with our little ones and theirs. Sylvia, we know that you

The measure of a man's character is not what he gets from his ancestors, but what he leaves to his descendants...He was quite the man from the stories I have heard, and this weekend he is sitting on his harley in heaven with front row seats for the race at the Glen. We will meet at Christ's return brother. For now I will keep Michelle, Danielle, Keith and your family in our prayers for you have left an empty place in their hearts, but a bountiful collections of precious memories to live on.

Sylvia and "kids," Boy, we go way back don't we...Garth remembers me from when he drove an egg truck by my house when I was about 10...we discovered after I met you at work and we became friends...then our men became friends and workers together. Boy, a lot of water has gone over our dams...for sure. Good, good memories!!! I'll miss Garth as no one wants to lose their friends...but the memories will always be there to bring out and enjoy! I am so sorry to learn that Garth has passed away.After Norm died we lost contact but I remember him so well as a man that when he heard someone had a problem he was always there to help.
