Rose Keenan Obituary
Age 96, of Hugg Rd., Lowman and formerly of Colonial Dr. in Horseheads, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Mon., Aug. 25, 2008. She was predeceased by her first husband, Fletcher Stage in 1979. Her surviving family includes her sons and daughters, George Stage of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, Irene (Clyde) Palmer of Horseheads, NY, Charles (Shirley) Stage of Lowman, NY, Virginia Silvernail of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Kathy Brague, Barbara Hall, Dorothy Guisewhite, Larry (Bonnie) Sivernail, Rose (John) Pona, Brian Stage, Colleen Cotter, John (Kim) Stage; 13 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Blanche Aldrich of Elmira, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Rose was born Jan. 9, 1912 in Cayuta, NY, the daughter to the late Joseph and Mary (Laska) Masin. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Excelsior-Southern Light Chapter #323, an avid bowler and member of North Chemung United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was predeceased by her brothers and sister, Frank, Charles, Joseph, Edward Masin and Mary Ontl. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., Horseheads on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2008, from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. where her service will take place at 8:00 p.m. with the Rev. Anne Mowery officiating. Officers and members of the Order of Eastern Star will also gather at the funeral home at 7:30 to conduct a Memorial Service for their departed sister. Those wishing may also remember Rose through memorials to the North Chemung United Methodist Church, 677 Breesport North Chemung Rd., Lowman, NY 14861.

My sympathy goes out to her wonderful family. She was a wonderful person. I am sorry that I was unable to get to know her the way you all did. I still maintain that she was a amazing women with the spirit that would not quite. I thank you all for allowing me the chance to be part of her life. Again my sympathy goes out to all of you.
