Aunt HaHa,
To me my Aunt Helen was always Aunt HaHa! My mother often told me that when I was a little girl I had a hard time pronouncing Helen and it came out HaHa. You were always so much more to me than an Aunt, a confidant, someone that seemed to always know just the right things to say to me to make things better. How wonderful for a child, young adult and now adult to have a person in their life like you! And what a beautiful memory you are for so many of us, both family, friends and community. There are no words that can ever express the love that I, Wayne, Becky and Matt will always have for you! You were my angel in life and will always be my angel in heaven. God speed my dear one and bless you for all you did for those in your life.
And ditto to my cousin Scotts mention to the $2 dollar bills we received throughout our lives. We have saved each and every one!
Love you forever, Lisa, Wayne, Becky and Matt

To the myriad of family and friends of Helen go our deepest sympathy at your and our loss.
Helen was "Southside Press" and the staunchest supporters of young girl and boy athletes in the community. She and her camera would be at all functions where youngsters were being honored and her work was "from the heart".
If you were on her last you would get surprise photos to include a cardboard standup of "Snoopy" her makebelieve mascot. She was talented and very active in spite of her own personal health problems of which she never spoke but always carried on with a smile. She loved catching photos of Al Mallette, especially at Southside High School Sporting Award Dinners, never letting him forget something that he might have said about Southside that Helen did not concur with and she let him know with a sly photo or two. Helen was and always will be a wonderful person and she left her life to us to carry on the undone work she left with her passing. May her spirit live on in others in the Southside Community who benefitted from her love and caring of so many others whose lives she touched. I was one of them and say, "Helen May you rest in the peace you shared all the days of your life",With sincere thoughts and a longtime friendship, Stan and Joanne Douglas, Webster,NY.

May Family,
As a recipient of many "Snoopy Press" photos please let me share my condolences to you. It was always a wonderful sight to see her on the sidelines of my lacrosse games.

My most vivid memories of Helen were of her taking photos at many area sports events. Thanks to her, I still have wonderful sheets of pictures of myself and my teammates playing softball in the late 1980's as she photographed the HHDS softball team. She always added the cutest captions to the pictures that still make me smile as I read them. Many people have benefitted from her kindness and talent. Helen will surely be missed.

Helen and I were friends. I first met her around l974 when I became Postmaster in Elmira and she came to my office with her camera and asked to take my photo. She placed snoopy on my desk and took a photo of us. I got it in the mail a few days later on a card with a caption. When I retired and became a National Disaster volunteer for Red Cross, again Helen called me for a photo with Snoopy in my Red Cross vest...and a few months ago in the St Joe's Cafeteria, I again met Helen and she had a Dr friend take our photo together, which I also received in the mail. Thank you, Helen for the photos and your friendship. God Bless You

Aunt Helen, you will always live in our hearts. You were such an inspiration in life. We will cherish the memories forever. The picture of you, the $2 dollar bills and birthday cards from you are placed on the top of the piano in our living room, like your spirit is still with us. Little Zach will certainly learn the story about his wonderful Aunt Helen.

I remember Helen fondly as a "colleague" of my dad's, Dutch Bennett. He wrote a sports column for a small newspaper back in the 70's and it seemed Helen was always there for him to shoot a picture. I also remember seeing her at the many sporting events that my brothers, nephews and many friends participated in. God Bless, Helen.

Helen May Family,
I was one of thousands who where fortunate to be captured by the "Snoopy Press". Despite her health concerns, she always went out of her way to make you feel special. She was the "Special Lady". I will always treasure the time I got to spend with, and having her make me smile for yet another sideline shot. She should be remembered as one of the greatest sports contibutors from Elmira!

My deepest sympathy to the family, Helen was one of a kind I have known Helen for many years. Yes, I do have many photo's taken by her and Snoopy. She worked with my step mother at Southern Tier Hospital Credit and that is where I first met Helen. She was a warm caring person one who I shall fondly remember always. May she rest in peace...
