Violet Parmelee Obituary
Of Elmira, NY
Was born March 25, 1925 in Montdale, PA, the daughter of the late Leo G. and Ethel (Miller) Severance, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 30, 2008, at the age of 83. Her parents, Leo and Ethel of Hornell; husband, Eugene H. Parmelee; son, Ronald Parmelee; brothers, Robert and Richard; sister, Marge; and granddaughter, Shannon, all predeceased her. She is survived by her beloved children, Sheri Bollen of Elmira, NY, Jeff Parmelee of North Carolina, Kathy (Jim) Voorhees of Lowman, NY, Pam (John) Pepper of Elmira, NY; sister and brother-in-law, Leona (George) Fronk of Hornell, NY; along with 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Violet was a strong, proud, independent woman who raised 5 children and her grandson, Konrad by herself! She had a great sense of humor and was loved by all and will be deeply missed. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY, on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral services honoring her life will follow the visitation. (5 p.m.) The Reverend David Daniels will celebrate Violet's service. Interment will take place privately in the Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations will be accepted to offset the cost of Violet's headstone. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
