George Caracciolo Obituary

CARACCIOLO,
George J.
Age 86, of Galeton, PA, died on Sunday, August 31, 2008, at his home. Born September 15, 1921 in Galeton, PA, he was a son of the late Pete and Daisy (Close) Caracciolo. He was a graduate of Galeton High School. Mr. Caracciolo was a veteran, having served with the United States Navy in World War II. He then worked and retired from Dresser Rand in Wellsboro. George was a Parishioner of St. Bibiana's Catholic Church in Galeton. He was a life member of the Galeton Moose and VFW and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are a daughter, Andrea "Annie" Caracciolo, Galeton; a brother, Vincent C. (Gladys) Caracciolo, Wilmington, DE; a sister, Angeline C. (William) Dietrich, Pittsburgh, PA; and three nieces and one nephew. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Caracciolo; a sister, Catherine Benaquist; and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Benaquist. Friends may call Tuesday, September 2, 2008, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton, PA, and on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at St. Bibiana's Catholic Church in Galeton, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Brian Vossler will be the Celebrant and the Rev. Joseph Dougherty will co-officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Potter County Hospice, 1001 East Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
