Dear Family and Friends..
I am SO sorry I missed the viewings and the burial today.
It is a sad sad day for me to have missed them.. I WAS in the hospital, but that quirk of fate is so mean. I wanted to be there to support the family, meet the Grandkids, and chat with all those who knew and loved him.

Here are some brief thoughts I wanted to pass along.
---------------------------------
I want to tell everyone about all the times you have gone out of your way to help other people, and to be friends with those treated as outcasts by some, even those from our rival schools.

I want to tell all about
how everyone who ever
worked or played with you, thinks of you as one of the strongest
people they have ever known; thinks of you as a fair and generous
person, at work or at play; thinks of you as consistently doing the
good thing.. Those you worked with and who were your superiors at the Grand Union, consistently showed their support and appreciation for
what you were and what you did. As did those at the BC Open and the
Corning Classic, and I am sure the same is true for the Elks
in Elmira and across the state.

The record is that we only had one failing, and we ain't telling anyone what it is, and in everything else we exceeded the bar,
went over the top, made touch downs, basked in the glory, and had a GOOD time.

I am sure the same will be true in Heaven. They probably need some organization up there, so you get them straightened out, and you can show ME the ropes this time..

I worked with Jim at the Grand Union in Vestal for several years. I also worked and had a lot of fun with him at the B.C. Open for many years in Endicott. He was a fantastic guy who shot straight from the hip. It was sad to hear of his passing. He will be missed.

Jimmy not only had beautiful hair, but a gorgeous smile, lovely eyes, and such a kindness about him. And that's a remembrance of him from all those years ago when I first met him when we moved to Horseheads in 1954. Many blessings to his family and all those whose lives were touched by him.

To Jim's Family,
My deepest sympathy at this very difficult time.

I worked with Jim at Grand Union many years ago. He was a good man. He was always alot of fun at work and outside of work. I've missed his friendship since moving out of the area, but will always have great memories.

Sincere condolences to the family. I'll always remember sitting one desk away from this sunny fellow at Horseheads every day throughout junior and senior high (luckily they grouped the "V's" together). And he was instrumental in getting me invited to a party in Elmira in early 1956 where I met the pretty girl (Barbara Lynott of Notre Dame) who has been with me ever since. Rest in peace, Jimmy.

Sincere condolances to Jim's family. He has been a friend since 1953. To me, Jim was an example of a great person, a hard worker, a sportsman and friend a guy was lucky to have. I enjoyed being on the Blue Raider teams with you, and our golf matches these past years. I'll miss our friendship, Jimmy. Rest in peace.

A high school classmate of Jimmy, I especially remember his wonderful sense of humor and the twinkle in his eye when he shared something funny. Our next reunion will not be the same without him. May the peace of wonderful memories be with all of his family to keep him close in their minds and hearts.
