ROOT, Evva D.
Age 91, of the Shared Home, Bacon Street, Wellsboro, PA, died August 28, 2008 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. She was the wife of the late Herbert D. Root who died in 1999. Evva was born May 19, 1917 in Charleston Township, PA, the daughter of the late James and Edith Bowen Davis. She was a homemaker and she and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in Charleston Township for fifty years. Evva was a member of the former Welsh Settlement Congregational Church and attended the Wellsboro Church of Christ. Surviving are sons, Eugene (Sharon) Root, Brockport, NY, and Keith Root, Wellsboro, PA; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Robert Rogers, Elmira, NY; brother, Fred Davis, Painted Post, NY; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vera and Everitt Vanderhoof, Wellsboro, PA; three granddaughters, Kimberly (Ron) Dalheim, Tamara Robinson, and Deborah (Rob) Patton; three great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Alaina and Madeline; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter L Davis, in 1998. Friends and family are invited to Evva's Life Celebration on Saturday, September 6, 2008, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, a "Life Celebration Home," 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA.
