Robert Waters Obituary
"Mike"
Age 55, of Horseheads, NY, passed away Monday, September 1, 2008, at his home. Robert was born on September 26, 1952 in Elmira, NY, to Robert Waters and Patricia Sullivan. Survivors include his parents; sons, Tim (Bethany) Waters and Scott Waters, both of Elmira; daughters, Becky Waters, Beth Waters and Paige Waters, all of Elmira; brothers, Jim (Lori) Waters and Paul (Laura) Waters, both of Elmira; sister, Susan Waters of Big Flats, and Mary Jo Meisner of Horseheads; grandchildren, Hannah, Faith, Rebekah, Emily and Nathan; many nieces and nephews. Robert served our country in the US Navy and was an avid outdoorsman, but his greatest love was his family. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, September 5th, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral Services will take place there at 5 p.m. Interment will be in Hilltop Cemetery in Breesport at the convenience of the family.

It is so sad to hear about Mike, I got to know him as a salesman for Wurth products. The time that I got to know him, he was a great individual. Sometimes you can tell that about a person in just a few visits. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

My family, this terrible loss cannot be without the pain of grief for all who knew and loved Mike. Thow I have not seen him in many years, he is forever woven into my memories of growing up and family. We had much in common as "Waters boys" and our father's first sons. When time and God's mercy eases the suffering of this moment, may we all be comfoted in the knowledge that Mike is basking in the joy of our beloved departed and the bondless love of God forever.

My thoughts are with Mike's family. I met Mike 6 years ago through my sister Jackie (HHS Class of '72), when I was looking for ideas in starting a class website (HHS Class of '65). Mike was a lot of help and provided me with good suggestions. I was very sorry to learn of his passing.

Mike was always quick with a smile and a compliment! Like my other classmates said...Mike helped bring us together and keep us all together via the website! We will all miss him!
