Wynn Chilson Obituary

CHILSON, Wynn Kemp
Age 74, of 8 Highland Ave., Addison, died Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira. Mr. Chilson was born in Nelson, PA on February 8, 1934, the son of the late Max and the late Leona (Kemp) Chilson. He attended school in Nelson, PA, and in 1987 married Mary Viselli of Addison, who survives him. Mr. Chilson owned and operated Chilson Roofing and Siding of Nelson, PA, for over 23 years. He then operated Chilson Logging and Lumber of Nelson for many years, and later partnered with his son, Kevin in Two Rivers Timber of Lindley, NY. In 2006, Wynn retired from Commonwealth Plywood Co., Ste-Therese, Quebec, where he had worked as a buyer. He was a member of Osceola Lodge #421, F. & A.M.; a Life Member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite N. M. J. U. S. A, Valley of Coudersport; Irem Shriners A. A. O. N. M. S. of Wilkes-Barre, PA; and a Charter Member of Addison Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 3904. Wynn had also been a member of the Family Fraternity Moose Lodge 746 of Elkland, PA, since 1969, and he served on the Vestry of the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer in Addison, NY. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary V. Chilson; son, Jeffrey Chilson and his wife, Sandi of Middlebury Center, PA; son, Brian Scott Chilson and his wife, Deborah of Nelson, PA; son, Kevin Chilson and his wife, Karen of Lindley, NY; daughter, Peggy Kay Martin and her husband, James of Merriam, KS; stepson, Arthur Greenfield of Washington, DC; stepdaughter, Yvonne Coulombe and her husband, David of Woodhull, NY; sister, Paula Barr and George Myers of Deltona, FL; sister, Jeanette Mendias of Rocklin, CA; sister, Kay Miller and her husband, Pete of Nelson, PA; sister-in-law, Martha Stiles and her husband, Ken of Centreville, VA; sister-in-law, Yvonne Roberts of Elmira, NY; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service to take place at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Addison will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 1 Wombaugh Square, Addison, NY 14801, or to the United Church of Nelson Presbyterian Church, PO Box 66, Nelson, PA 16940. Arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney Street in Corning.
