Emily Nurse Obituary

NURSE, Emily I.
88, of Andover Township, New Jersey, died Saturday, September 20, 2008. Born in London, England, Mrs. Nurse came to the U.S. in 1945, and settled in New York City. She lived in Gillett, Pennsylvania, for 20 years before moving to Andover Township four years ago. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Bentley Creek, Pennsylvania, where she was active in the choir and Bible studies. Mrs. Nurse was predeceased by her first husband, Leonard Michaels in 1979; and her second husband, Glenn Nurse in 1998. She is survived by two sons, Peter J. Michaels of Milford, New Hampshire, and Philip J. Michaels of Georgia; one daughter, Barbara Miller of the Cranberry Lake section of Byram Township, New Jersey; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Interment will be held 12 noon on Wednesday at the Bentley Creek Cemetery in Gillett. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Foundation, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201. Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, New Jersey.

Emily was a wonderful example to everyone she came in contact with. She wanted to share her love for God with everyone she met. She was truly an inspiration to everyone at Bentley Creek Baptist Church.
