The Lavris family were wonderful friends and neighbors to our family when I was growing up in the seventies. Mrs. Lavris babysat my youngest sister Kathy and instilled in her a love for animals and nature. One memory I cherish was Anita telling my Mother and I how Kathy had caught a frog and hid it in her pocket book just before they went to Mass on a Saturday night. When the collection plate was being passed Kathy openned her purse and out jumped the frog into the offering!...at least thats the way I remember it!
God bless you Ted and Sally. Your family brought so much joy to our family during those years.
With deepest sympathy,
Love,

Mrs. Lavris was my babysitter in the early seventies. We lived next door to her and Mr. Lavris and Sally and their dogs Poonie, Midge and Mitzie. I have very fond momories of all of them. Mrs. Lavris was a wonderfully kind caretaker and mentor, instilling in me a love for animals and nature. I remember her beautiful gardens by the slope of the creek bank, with grape hyacinth and myrtle. I remember the chickens and swimming in the pool. I cherish these memories of a loving family and a dear lady whose influence has stayed with me and my family for thirty years. God bless you, Mrs. Lavris! and my throughts and prayers are with Sally and Mr. Lavris, too. Thank you for your kindness to me so many years ago.
