Roy Elmquist Obituary

ELMQUIST, Roy H.
Age 73, of Elmira Heights, NY. He was born April 18, 1935 in Elmira, son of the late John and Ellen (Scoglund) Elmquist, and passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008, at home after an extended illness. He was predeceased by his wife, JoAnn Elmquist on Sept. 26, 2003 and is survived by 21 nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews. Roy retired from Kennedy Valve; was a veteran of WWII and a life member V.F.W. Post 6083, C.W.V. Post 1176, and the American Legion Post 154, all in Elmira Heights. Family and friends are invited to attend his Graveside Service, with Military Honors on Monday, October 6th at 10 a.m. in Woodlawn National Cemetery, 1825 Davis Street, Elmira. Rev. Thomas O'Brien will officiate. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Roy through donations to St. Charles Borromeo Church, Elmira Heights Fire Department or Southern Tier Hospice. Walter J. Kent Funeral home is assisting the family.
