TRYON, Donald Lee
October 5, 2008

Age 72, of Scranton, PA, and formerly of Elmira, NY, joined his beloved wife Ramona Faye Tryon peacefully with many of his children by his side. Known by his family and friends as "The Speaker", Donald was born January 15, 1936 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Mildred E. Comfort and Clifford J. Tryon. After graduating from Southside H.S., Donald began his passionate and dedicated career in the soft drink industry starting with Seven Up, Pepsi Cola of Elmira/Binghamton and retiring with over 20 years as Sales Manager for Crystal Soda Bottling Co. of Scranton, PA. Donald is preceded in death by one son, James F. Tryon. Surviving are his children, Cynthia Tryon and husband, Phil Allen of New Milford, PA, Jacquelyn Tryon and fiancé, Rodney Axtell of Orange, NY, Donald Tryon and wife, Julie of New Milford, PA, Scott Tryon and wife, Kristin of Lancaster, PA, Nicole Tryon and husband, William Donaldson of Horseheads, NY, Todd Tryon and wife, Julie of Batavia, NY, Christopher Tryon and wife, Kim of Denville, NJ; seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Tryon and husband, Harold Allington of Millport, NY; brothers, William Comfort of Elmira, NY, and Joseph Comfort and wife, Carol of Mira Loma, CA. The Family would like to thank Hospice of The Sacred Heart and Dad's companion of many years, Anna Mae Cook. A special thanks and appreciation goes to his granddaughter, Angela Weinberg and husband, Eric of Clarks Summit for their watchful, loving care and support. Friends and Family may call Thursday, 5 to 7 p.m. at Snowdon Funeral Home, 1810 Sanderson Ave., Scranton, with funeral services immediately following. An additional Memorial Service in Elmira, NY will be properly listed soon. Donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, local chapter, may be made in lieu of flowers.
