William Van Etten Obituary

VAN ETTEN William D.
of Ulysses, PA
75, died Monday, October 20, 2008. Born July 21, 1933 in Whitesville, NY, he was the son of Mark J. and Miriam Pride Van Etten. On August 31, 1954 in Mills, PA, he married the former Anna Mills, who survives. Mr. Van Etten owned and operated Four Winds Dairy Farm for many years and was awarded the Dairy of Distinction. He served as director of the Pennsylvania Farmer's Association, Agricultural Stabilization Committee, Agway, and the Ulysses board and corporate board of First Citizens National Bank. Surviving besides his wife, Anna, are: a son, Richard "Rick" Van Etten of Ulysses; a daughter, Vicki (John) Moon of Ulysses; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Josiah, Billy, Kylie, Cassie, Kati, Jennifer, and Julie; four brothers, Lynn (Vivian) Van Etten of Ulysses, Lyle (Joyce) Van Etten and Thomas (Sharon) Van Etten, both of Whitesville, NY, and Richard (Mary Ellen) Van Etten of Wellsville, NY; two sisters, Evelyn (Floyd) Buckley of Campbell, NY and Carol Cady of Westfield, PA; his mother-in-law, Elsie Mills Easton of Ulysses; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, W. John Van Etten. Friends may call Wednesday, October 22, 2008, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Mills Union Church, Mills, PA. Rev. Canon Rudolph J. van der Hiel and R. Lowell Coolidge, Esq. will preside. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ulysses Library, Ulysses, PA 16948 or the Mills Union Church, c/o Robert Nelson, 6083 SR 49, Ulysses, PA 16948.
