Mary Rapalee Obituary

RAPALEE, Mary Ellen
of Roebuck, SC, formerly of Interlaken and Alpine, New York, died October 21, 2008. Mary Ellen was born August 1, 1923, in Mecklenburg, NY to the late Thomas and Helen Decker. She retired from Cornell University as an Admin. Assistant and moved to Spartanburg, SC in 1979, where she was employed by Jordan Oil. She is survived by her six children, Patricia Clearwater, Karen Clearwater, Thomas Rapalee (Cheryl), Robert Rapalee, Duane Rapalee, and Helen McGuane (Bill); 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A brother, Tommy Decker, predeceased Mrs. Rapalee. Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service for Mary Ellen on Monday, October 27, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Alpine, NY, Rev. Sheila Price officiating. Donations may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 218A Trade Street, Greer, SC 29652.

Thoughts and prayers are with your family. I worked with Mary Ellen at Cornell for a number of years and thoroughly enjoyed her sense of humor! I saw her occasionally after she left CU and it was always a pleasure to catch up on things.

I will miss Mary Ellen. I worked with her for a long time at Jordan Oil. I learned alot from her and became very fond of her.
