Mary Clancy Obituary

CLANCY, Mary E. (Mattison) (O'Leary)
Age 98, of Elmira, NY, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. Mary was born on September 7, 1910 in Bradford, PA, daughter of the late Grant and May (Foster) Mattison. Mary was a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick's Church. She was an avid bingo player, loved traveling, crocheting and reading romance novels. Mary will be dearly missed by her grandchildren and those that knew her. Mary was predeceased by her husbands, Dennis O'Leary and Thomas Clancy; daughter, Joan Thiel; son, Patrick E. O'Leary; sisters, Ruth Vergason and Margaret Knapp. Survivors include her grandchildren, Loren, Gar, Mark, Bruce, Glen, Joan, Patrick and Patricia; great-grandchildren, April and Hope; along with many other great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, October 29, 2008, from 12 to 1 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Fr. Walter Wainwright officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary can be made to Disabled American Veterans, Attn: Gift Processing, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
