Albert Rummings Obituary
Age 71, of Port Richey, FL, formerly of Erin, NY, passed away October 30, 2008. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Louise; Children, Lewis and Carmen Matthews of Copperas Cove, TX, Brenda and David Fagan of Winston-Salem, NC, Scott H. and Julia Rummings of Stokesdale, NC, Thomas and Kimberly Matthews of Pine City, NY, Novella and Dave Kinner of Port Richey, FL, Henry and Terri Matthews of Horseheads, NY, Scott and Jessie Matthews of Elmira, NY; Sister, Mildred Hill of Horseheads, NY; Brothers, Robert and Mary Rummings and Glen Rummings all of Elmira, NY; Several nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Albert was a retired truck driver for I Shulman & Son for 42 years. He was an avid fisherman and a Korean War veteran. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St. Horseheads, on Mon., Nov. 3, 2008, from 1-3:00 p.m. and again from 5-7:00 p.m. His service will take place there at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with his nephew, Jack Deyo, officiating. Interment to follow in Scotchtown Cemetery in Erin where Military Honors will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Albert with memorials to Hernado-Pasco Hospice, 6801 Rowan Road, New Port Richey, FL, 34653.

Dear Louise,
My deepest sympathy. It is so hard to loose your mate, but know that Al will be waiting on the other side. He has now gone where we must follow.
To Brenda and Scott, You have a great loss in losing your Father. You both have had too many losses in too short a time. You have my heart.
Louise, I met you and Albert at Brenda's and my son David's, wedding, but got to know you all when you opened up your home to me when visiting with David and Brenda. This I learned, Al was a kind and gentle person. He enjoyed showing off his citrus trees, plants and showing off "Thirsty" , his much loved cat.
On more than one visit we were shown so much kindness in taking us fishing (Albert caught the biggest on the boat) and didn't brag a bit. We did flea markets and he gave us his time, and his energy, touring the area. Al was an ambassador for God in showing off and sharing his bounty.
Louise and Brenda, I especially remember when we all gave him a surprise for his birthday. He showed his heart, when he cried with gratitude. Albert knew God's love.
We left with a car full of grapefruit, oranges, tangerines, etc. Albert was a keeper of God's earth and small creatures.
Novella and David, It has not gone unnoticed your caring spirit by being nearby to help with daily chores.
Sierra and Scotty, remember your grandfather. Life is so short and time goes by rapidly. My sympathy goes to you . I have been blessed by meeting you all.
