Geraldine Wead Obituary
Age 69, of Lovell Ave., Elmira and longtime resident Murphy Hill Rd. in Catlin, passed away on Sat., Oct. 13, 2007, at home surrounded by her family while residing with her sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Fred Arndt. Geraldine was born May 29, 1938 in Elmira, NY, the daughter to the late Charles and Bernice (Gardner) Wead. She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Frances Simons of Horseheads, NY, Ellen Kruger of Jackonsville, NC, Lucille (Fred) Arndt of Elmira, NY, with whom Geraldine resided, Mary Wead of Mocksville, NC, Norman (Bonnie) Wead of Beaver Dams, NY, Harold Wead of Horseheads, NY; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and many friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Ann Mothershed; and brother, Charles Wead. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. A strong willed lady, Geraldine was a loving and caring sister and friend. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads on Monday from 3-6:00 p.m. where her service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Burial service will take place on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats beside her parents.

I remember Mrs.Wead when I was a little girl she and her husband allowed us to play on there farm and took care of us we had moved in with my aunt up there. she was such a kind lady to us as we were going through a bad time in are life.

I remember Geraldine when my mother was married to her brother Charles. Very nice lady very strong willed. I am sorry for your families loss.

I was sadden to here about Geraldine's passing on Saturday from what. I know of her she was a nice person very kind she will be greatly missed by her sister and brother-in-law Fred Ardnt
