Yvonne Douglas Obituary
Age 56, of Elmira, NY. She was born November 8, 1950 in Elmira, daughter of the late Solomon James and Geraldine (Williams) Fauntleroy. She passed away Monday, October 15, 2007, unexpectedly at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin in 2003. She is survived by her children, Jerome of Baltimore, MD, Jerilyn and Justin, both of Elmira; grandchildren, Benny, Justin, Tranell and Omarr; sister, Jacquelyn (Colin) Carriere of Accokeek, MD; nephew, Neil; and niece, Jerelle; aunts, Arlouise Tisdell and Lillian Allen, both of Syracuse, NY; dear friend, Denise Jones of Elmira; god sister, Annette Walker-McDonald of Elmira; along with a host of cousins and friends. Family and friends are invited to visit Monumental Baptist Church, 308-310 E. Clinton St., Elmira, on Friday, October 19th, from 10 to 11 a.m. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Rev. James E. Jones will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.

We where was deeply saddened to hear the news about the sudden death of your Mother.
It seems like yesterday, I can hear Aunt Vonnie telling me to "Stop knocking on the wall Toi ... Jerilyn and you both need to go to bed”
I think about when we use to live next door often. Every time I seen her she always was so happy and proud of all of you! Aunt Vonnie will be missed but never forgotten!

I will always miss her biggest smile and loving wave from her work as I pass her window to go out to do some errands for working site. She always made sure to use sign language to me as I am deaf and she has wonderful ability to communicate with Deaf. She is blessed to be with God and his angels.

I just don't know what is going on in this world I'm in shock and very sadden to know that 1 of our babysitter from the Jones Court Days has pass. I will to miss Vonnie very much. I was just recently sitting with her at a City Council Meeting at Diven School and we were talking about Thanksgiving on how she wanted me to make her some Macaroni & Cheese Vonnie loved good food and she love my Macaroni & Cheese and Taco Salad. I'm going to miss her smile her laughter and are running to each other at Wegman's she would say you need a ride because we didn't live to far from each other she was alway's kind and thoughtful and helpful my prayers are with you all during this time she will be greatly missed by everyone that has come in her presence.

I will miss singing with Miss Yvonne everyday, there was always a song on we loved.
