1991 "Volunteer of the Year"
Age 71, of Millerton, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2007. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. on Friday, October 19, 2007, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Funeral Service there Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The Reverend Dr. Betsey Crimmins will officiate. Interment will follow in Jackson Center Cemetery with Military Honors accorded at the grave. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Bill through memorials to Sullivan Trail Chapter of The American Red Cross, Disaster Team, 311 Stowell St., Elmira, NY 14901 or Five Rivers Boy Scout Council, c/o Michael Thomas, 100 Gunderman Rd., Elmira, NY 14901; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. A "Candle of Remembrance" may be left for the family in Obituaries at www.olthof.com.

my prayers go out to all of bills family. i havent seen bill in close to forty years but have thought about him often i met bill as a member of the order of the arrow dance team and he became a great mentor and a friend as i got older he got me my first job pumping gas at the elmira gas mart back in the early 70's again my prayers go out to his family though i haven't seen bill in many years he will always be in my mind and heart

I have many fond memories of Bill and the Millerton Boy Scouts at Camp Brule'. I am sorry to hear of his passing and offer my condolences to his family. There is no doubt he now walks the streets of gold and wears a crown of jewels.
