Johanna Greig Obituary

GREIG, Johanna C. (Crowell)
80, of Centerville Road, Sayre, PA, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at her home. Born January 17, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Cornelia Sword VanKrieken. Johanna was employed by the Norristown State Hospital, Norristown, PA, for 20 years, retiring in 1981. She moved to Wilawanna, PA in 1985, and married George Greig at the Wilawanna United Methodist Church on August 20, 1994. Johanna was a member of the Valley Arts Society, the Horseheads Art Guild, and the Southport Artists. Surviving are her husband, George Greig, at home; her son, Lt. Col. George J. Crowell and his wife, Carol of Centerville, PA; her daughter, Deborah A. Crowell of New Ringgold, PA; her stepchildren, Daniel Greig of East Fallowfield, PA, LeAnne Edwund of Maryland, David Greig and his wife, Kim of Texas, Melissa Cortinas and her husband, Jesus of Maryland; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; three nephews, a niece, and several cousins. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. There are no calling hours. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to Guthrie Hospice, RR#1 Box 154, Towanda, PA 18848, or to the No Kill Sanctuary, RR#1, Milan, PA 18831, in Johanna C. Grieg's memory. The Alteri-Bowen Funeral Home, 314 Desmond St., Sayre, is assisting Johanna's family with arrangements.
