E. Dockstader Obituary

DOCKSTADER,
E. Stanley

Age 84, of Erie, PA, died Thursday, November 22, 2007. Born in Elmira, New York, November 7, 1923, he was a son of the late Roy S. and Gertrude Everts Dockstader. Mr. Dockstader graduated from Thomas A. Edison High School in Elmira and received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering cum laude from Syracuse University in 1947. He served in the US Navy and took additional MBA classes at Gannon University. He was a civil engineer in commercial construction and worked for several companies throughout New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Dockstader in 1996; and two brothers, Lyle and Gordon Dockstader. Survivors include his wife, Muriel Thomas Fearnot Dockstader; a daughter, Reverend Deborah Dockstader of Niles, Ohio; a son, David Dockstader of Erie; a nephew, Dr. David Dockstader and his wife, Brita of Louisville, KY; a niece, Claire Trauth and her husband, Richard of Stevensville, Montana; four stepchildren, Janice Stauffer and her husband, Edward of Lincoln, NE, Dr. Neal Fearnot and his wife, Sharon of West Lafayette, IN, and John and Carol Fearnot, both of CA; and three step grandchildren, Michelle Metcalf and her husband, Justin, and their daughter, Kaylee of Lafayette, IN, and Annette and Evonne Fearnot, both of West Lafayette, IN. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 602 West 10th Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 247 West 6th Street, on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gregg Townsend, Rev. Stephen Morse and Rev. Deborah Dockstader officiating. Interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Erie, PA. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 250 West 7th Street, Erie, PA 16501, or the Rotary Foundation, c/o Treasurer, Rotary Club of Erie, P.O. Mrs. Dockstader, you have my deepest and sincerest sympathy for your loss. I met Stan through his work with the Northwest Pennsylvania Rail Authority and his dedicated and tireless efforts in support of the entire Northwest Pennsylvania region. He will be missed by many.
