HANRAHAN, Ann L.
80 years, of 101 Columbia St., Apt. #420, Corning, NY, died Monday, November 26, 2007, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was born April 18, 1927 in Scranton, PA, the daughter of the late William and Loretta O'Malley Sweeney. The family relocated to the Corning Area in 1940 and she graduated from Corning Free Academy, Class of 1944. Ann and John "Jack" Hanrahan were married July 31, 1948 in St. Mary's Church, Corning, NY. He predeceased her April 28, 1972. She was employed as an executive secretary for Corning Inc. retiring in 1986 with 27 years service. Ann was a member of All Saints Parish, attending St. Mary's Church and the Rosary Society. She volunteered for Corning Meals on Wheels and the Corning Hospital Chapter. Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was a devout Catholic and a true animal lover. Surviving are daughters, Mary Ellen (Joseph) Hanrahan Kerigan of Wilmington, NY, Ann "Kitty" (Neil) Hanrahan Barbour of Needham, MA, and Lucinda Hanrahan of Swampscott, MA; sons, Michael Hanrahan and Patrick (Pam) Hanrahan, all of Corning, NY; grandchildren, Francine (Chris) Rother, Kathleen Kerigan, Elizabeth Kerigan, James Barbour, Shana Marie (John) Robertson, Devin Hanrahan, Colleen Fremont Smith, Patrick Fremont Smith and Sarah Fremont Smith; two great-grandchildren, Lillian Grace Rother and Grace Ann Robertson; sister, Helen (Paul) Quattrini of Aiken, SC; and sister-in-law, Gertrude Horigan of Corning, NY. Also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by: sister, Molly Roche and brother-in-law, Joseph Roche. Friends may call at the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First St., Corning, NY, Thursday, November 29, 2007, from 4-8 p.m. A prayer service will be offered November 30, 2007, 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial and Prayers of Committal at St. Mary's Church, Corning, NY, 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning, NY.
