William Tyler Obituary

TYLER, William E. III
Age 57, of Brown Hollow Road in Corning, NY, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at Corning Hospital. Bill was born in Sayre, PA on February 25, 1950 to William and Florence (Lane) Tyler, Jr. He married Cheryl Harriger on February 12, 1988 in Caton. He was employed by VanPatten Plumbing & Heating in Elmira as a plumber and pipe fitter. Bill raised and flew Birmingham Roller pigeons in competition. He was an avid hunter, car enthusiast, and loved spending time with his family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his father, William. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his mother, Florence Tyler; three daughters, Floranna McCandless of Leggett, TX, Sabrina (David) Thompson of Elmira, and Nikida Tyler of Caton; four sons, William (Margaret) Tyler IV of St. Petersburg, FL, Micheal Altieri of Horseheads, Carl Card of Caton, and Jesse Johns of Elmira; five sisters, Margaret Rose of Caton, Cindy (Patrick) Pellett of Corning, Kimberly (Charles) Baker of Corning, Kurina (James) Mase of Caton, and M. Mari (Douglas) Tyler-Crout of Caton; three brothers, Oscar Tyler of Chillicothe, OH, Rick (Maryellen) Tyler of Elmira, and Robin (Tamara) Tyler of Elmira; grandchildren, Colby, Traci, Cammie, Michaela, Keirstyn, Zachary, and Kesley; his mother-in-law, Shirley Harriger; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2007, from 1 until 5 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney Street in Corning, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Barnard Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, NY 14609-5896.
