William Parry Obituary

PARRY,
William Edward, Sr.

Age 84, of Athens, PA, went to be with his Lord on Monday, December 3, 2007. William was born on January 30, 1923 in Argentine, PA, the son of Paul Parry and Helen Thompson Parry. He started working around the coal mines of Argentine at a young age. On November 6, 1943 William married Helen (Hughes) Parry in the rectory of St. Patrick's Church, Elmira. William served his country during World War II in the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific. At the wars' conclusion William returned to Elmira, his wife, and his employment at Bendix Corp., a job he held for 30 years retiring as a set-up man in 1975. In addition to his employment at Bendix, William held various part time jobs around Elmira from construction to school bus driver. William is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen (Hughes) Parry; sons and daughter-in-law, William Edward Parry, Jr. of Athens, PA, Michael John and Keva Parry of Painted Post; and grandson, Shawn Michael Parry. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his beloved third son, Martin Paul; and in-laws, James and Mary Hughes. William will be forever missed by his family and friends. He worked long and hard to provide for his family. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements by McInerny Funeral Home.
