Doris Pallone Obituary

PALLONE, Doris A.
Age 68, of 300 South Main Street, Elmira, NY, passed away Monday, December 3, 2007, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was born December 24, 1938 in Elmira, daughter of the late Truman and Reva Camp Burt. She attended area schools and was married to the late Angelo D. Pallone, who passed away December 1, 1960. Doris was employed by the Mohawk Bakery in Elmira, NY, and as a dietician at the Community Hospital in San Angelo, Texas, when she was a resident there. Doris was an avid bingo player and enjoyed sports and took great pride in watching her children and grandchildren participate. She was also a New York Yankees fan. Survivors include her daughter, Reva Pallone of Ballston Spa, NY; a son, Michael Pallone of Mertzon, TX; her grandson, Michael Scott of Mertzon, TX; brother, Judd Burt of Wellsburg, NY; sisters, Lena Buckland of Elmira, NY, Nancy Robinson of Wellsburg, NY, and Isabel Ackerman of Texas; longtime friend, Dorothy Walker Marvin of Elmira, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Doris was predeceased by her sisters, Eleanor White, Jessie Norgren and Kathleen Libertore; brothers, Edward Burt and Truman Burt, Jr. Following her wishes, there are no calling hours and services will be at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY. Memorials are directed to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830, or to a charity of one's choice. DoDo, I will never forget what a great friend you are to my mother, Dorothy, and how much fun the Walker kids would have at your house when we lived in Elmira. After we moved to Rochester and would come back to Elmira on weekends you always let us stay with you. You are loved very much by all of us and will be greatly missed. Love and kisses
