Helen Waltz Obituary

WALTZ, Helen Leah
Age 93, of Springville, PA, formerly of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 04, 2007, at the Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock, PA. Helen was born August 14, 1914 on Grant Hill, Wilmot Township, Bradford County, a daughter of the late Rodney and Elizabeth Stoddard Tuttle. She graduated from the Wyalusing High School, a member of the Class of 1933. She worked at the Towanda Silk Mill and the Patterson Screen Co. of Towanda, PA for several years until marring Ornan Hibbard Waltz of Ithaca, NY on May 5, 1940. Her husband worked for Penelec and was transferred to Mansfield in 1947. She resided in Mansfield until June of 1999 when she moved to Springville. Her husband, Ornan, predeceased her on August 17, 1974. Helen became a member of the Mansfield United Methodist Church in 1948 and she was a former member of the United Methodist Women. Surviving: two daughters and son-in-law, Rosalie Connelly, Mansfield, PA, Betty Jane and Scott Hall, Springville, PA; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Ruth Tuttle, Sugar Run, PA; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a sister, Frances Brown of New Albany, PA, October 6, 1984. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA with the Rev. Diane Prentice presiding. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon to the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to the Mansfield Senior Center c/o Dawn Vetter, Canoe Camp Church of Christ, Mansfield, PA, 16933 or the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield, 67 E.
