JESSUP, Marguerite E.
Loving mother,
grandmother and
great-grandmother

Formerly of Crestview Drive, Pine City, NY, was born September 19, 1926 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late William and Violet Mae (Wenzel) Russell, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 9, 2007, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 81. Marguerite (Greenwalt) married Harold Leighton Jessup, January 21, 1923 at the Oakwood Avenue United Methodist Church in Elmira Heights, NY and celebrated 55 wonderful years of life and love together, prior to his passing, December 5, 2005. Her sister-in-law, Patricia Jessup also predeceased her. She is survived by her beloved children, Marcia (Dennis) Boor of Elmira, NY, Laurie Jessup of Cary, NC, Michael (Amy) Jessup of Scotia, Melanie (Robert) Cassarly of Elmira, NY; much loved grandchildren, Kelli (Brett) French, Jeremy Boor and Ryan Boor, all of Elmira, NY, Kelsey Jessup and Skyler Jessup, both of Scotia; adored great-granddaughter, Olivia Rose French; brother, Russell (Rita) Greenwalt of Painted Post, NY; sister-in-law, Donna Jean Benedict of Fort Meyers, FL; brother-in-law, Walter Jessup of Caton, NY; along with several nieces, nephews and friends. Marguerite was employed by the Town of Southport as a clerk in the Assessor's office for several dedicated years. She was a shop-a-holic, enjoyed her crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Following the visitation, everyone is welcome to join the Jessup family for a celebration of both Harold and Marguerite's lives. Lay Pastor Robert Townson will officiate. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park where Marguerite will be laid to rest with her beloved Harold. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Fund, PO Box 1306, Elmira, NY 14902. Mike, Laurie and Melanie,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. It's been a long time since I've seen or spoken to you. Your mother was a wonderful person, same goes for your father. It took people with extreme patience to let us shake your house with the loud practice sessions. May God watch over you and give you strength in your time of grieving.
