Joseph Sarvey Obituary

SARVEY, Joseph W. "Bill"
Of Elmira, NY
Was born March 9, 1926 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Dalton V. and Marcella S. (Smith) Sarvey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital at the age of 81. In 1944, Bill graduated from Southside High School. He then proudly served his country as a Veteran in the US Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict. He was a dedicated employee of 41 years with New York State. Full-time with the Department of Correctional Services, SUNY at Brockport, part-time with the NYS Unified Court System and the Law Library in Elmira. There are no known relatives. At his request, there will be no prior calling hours. Graveside Services will be held privately in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY 14904.

I never had the pleasure of meeting "BILL", but I wanted to take time to say THANK YOU for defending our country so we can have the freedom whe have today. May you rest peacefully in the hands of the LORD forever.

I was sorry to learn of Bill's passing. I remember him as a loving and caring person and that he was devoted to his mother.
