RANIEWICZ, Vincent J.
Age 84, of Elmira, died Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at Elcor Health Services. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy of 57 years; sister-in-law, Mary Raniewicz, Elmira; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Helen) Leonard, Binghamton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pre-deceased by his parents, Valeria and Joseph; sisters, Mary and Victoria; brothers, Michael, Steven, Jackson, Edward, Thomas and Frank, therefore Vincent was the last of his siblings. Vincent is a US Army veteran, retired from the Remington Rand, Elmira, and the Elmira Star-Gazette, a lifelong communicant of St. Casimir's Church, having been an usher for over 66 years, member of the St. Casimir's Recreation Club working bingo for 42 years, member Polish Arts Club, former member of the White Eagles Club and the P.N.A. Those wishing may make a donation in Vincent's memory to the St. Casimir's Church Heating/AC Fund, Falck Cancer Center or Southern Tier Hospice (envelopes available at the funeral home). Dorothy wishes to send a special Thank You to: Elcor staff, Hospice, relatives, friends and neighbors for their help and kindness. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Kalec Funeral Home Sunday, December 16, from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service there Monday at 10:15 a.m. followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Casimir's Church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
