Glenn Forrest Vance

VANCE, Glenn Forrest Glenn Forrest Vance, 64, of Paige, Texas, was born on December 26, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas. Glenn is survived by his cherished wife Debbi Vance of Paige; three stepchildren, Michael Taylor of Georgetown, Alex Taylor and his wife Ashlyn of Georgetown, and Annelise Jones and her husband Christian of Paige; two step grandchildren, Evan and Aniya Taylor of Georgetown; father-in-law George Shafer of Bryan; and brother-in-law Mark Shafer of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Barbara J. (Van Winkle) Vance of San Antonio, his sister Marion Burch of Houston, and stepdaughter Damaris Taylor of Georgetown. After two years in private legal practice, Glenn was an Assistant Attorney General of Texas for the Child Support Division from 1991 until 2016 for a total of 25 years. He served as managing attorney for field offices in Harlingen, Edinburg, and San Antonio, as Assistant Senior Field Attorney in the Rio Grande Valley and much of South Texas, as Forms Section Chief supervising policy and procedures, and as an Attorney trainer. Glenn was heavily involved with the Episcopal and Bible Churches in Austin. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and taking cruises with his family. Glenn died from heart failure on the evening of Friday, December 11, 2020 at his beloved residence in Paige. A celebration of Glenn's life will occur at a later date.
