Stephanie Smart Obituary

Stephanie Yvonne Smart Our beloved mother, Stephanie Yvonne Smart, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2006. Born on June 14, 1955 in Lubbock, TX, to Chancel, and Alberta Smart, she grew up in Kansas City, MO later moving to Austin to attend Houston-Tillotson College in Austin, TX, where she went on to graduate with a BA in Business Administration. Stephanie went on to make a home Atlanta, GA. Where she worked for the past eleven years with (MARTA) Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, before she retired in Dec. 05. She touched all who crossed her path in a special way. She was the daughter you would be proud of; the mother who lived for her children - never missing a game; the sister you could share your deepest secrets with; the supportive wife; and the cherished friend only a few are fortunate to have in their lives. Kind words are the courtesies often extended in times such as these, but for Stephanie they are reflections of truth. We miss and love her dearly. Stephanie will continue to live in our hearts and memories. Survivors include her father Chancel Smart, sisters Chanzella Scroggins (Robert), Beatrice Smart, Lillian Smart, and the late Judy McCray, children Orlando Smart (Rolanda), and Brandi Fontaine, grandchildren Ashley, Orlando, and Omar, other relatives, and a host of friends. The services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, at St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church at 1202 West Pecan Street in Pflugerville, TX.

Orlando and Brandi,

"A mother's love
is forever-
Nothing can take it from you,
For it lives in your heart
and your memories
And is part
of all that you do"

Please know that we are thinking of you and will keep you in our prayers.

With deepest sympathy in the loss of someone who was so very special.

Orlando and Brandi,

I have very fond memories of your Mother when she visited the Thomas family, especially during the Christmas and New Year's holidays, the two of you tagging along with her. I will always remember her beautiful smile and radiant personality, and the fun we had during those joyful times. She helped to make the holidays special at our house. Stephanie will forever be a part of our memories. I know that she was very proud of the both of you.

Orlando and Brandi, you and your family will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. May the fond memories you have of your Mother bring you much comfort and joy.

With Heartfelt Sympathy & Much Love,
(Marsha's Aunt)
