Dad: I just wanted to take this time to wish the most incredible father a happy fathers day. If it were not for you, I would not be the father to my children that I am today. You have instilled some of the most sacred family values a man could ever ask for. I learned from someone who guided me in the right direction. You raised me with good family values and they have been handed down to me to carry on our family name. There is not a day that does not go by that you do not cross my mind. It is so hard still to try and get over the pain that my heart still has because you are not here with me anymore. All of the kids miss you dearly and even Gavin asks about you from time to time. He finally understands that you are in a better place in heaven. Everyone is doing great and Hayley is back in The Army doing her job training. I wish you could truly be here to see her in her US Army uniform. You would be extremely very proud of your granddaughter soldier wearing the uniform of The United States Army. She definitely did you proud dad. Before you know it, she will be a Sgt just like you were and eventually who knows, maybe even a colonel one day like you.

Dad, I want to wish you a very happy fathers day where ever you may be looking down upon my entire family as you do each and every day. Please be the angel on Hayley's shoulder while she is away, and please look after all of my kids for me and Rachel as well.

God Bless you and may you rest in peace. I miss you dearly.

Heyy Grandpa,
Wow has this past year been such an emotional roller coaster. Its almost unimaginable that its almost a year to the day that you left Gods green earth. But now you are with God up in the Heavens with Grandpa Skip looking down on each and everyone of us helping us getting through our day to day struggles that we face. You have helped me so much you don't even know and sometimes it sucks because I still have many questions to ask you but unfortunately your not here to answer them but in a way you help me to find the answers that I am looking for. Grandpa I miss you soo much, we miss you soo much and April 20th will probably be one of the hardest days of my life and my family but I will be there for them and we will help each other get through this rough time. Grandpa I love you so much and I promise you that I wont let you down anymore then I have because I have learned from my mistakes just like you taught me to do and I have the strength and the courage to move on just like you have the strength and the courage to finally let go that morning of April 20th 2007. I love you so much and God Bless!!!

Hi Dad:

Well it has been almost one year since you have left all of us. It has been a very tough time handling the fact that I can not talk to you anymore for advice on certain things like our new house that we are building that you were supposed to be a part of living with us. The other evening, I was driving home from a wedding that I was the DJ at and you came to my mind and I started telling George about your final hours before you passed and it really made me sad to talk about that but to know you did not leave us alone and Rachel was there with you meant the world to me. Dad, I want you to know that I am doing my best to make it and with your spiritual guidance there, I know I will succeed in life and my family will succeed as well. Please keep looking over us as our house is being built and PLEASE HELP ME SELL the house we currently live in now. Love you dad and miss you much..........

Hi Joe, it's Rachel. It is coming up on the one year anniversary of your death. This date also marks Gavin's 5th birthday. I know that you are going to be there in spirit with us as we celebrate his birthday. Gavin still has your magnifying glass. When we ask him about it, he tells us "it's Grandpa Joe's". You are deeply missed. We know that you are watching over all of us. Please continue to watch over us and help guide us in the right direction. We love you very much. Love, Rachel

Hi Dad:

Just wanted to let you know that last week on July 20th, 2007 your house was officially sold and the new owner closed on it. I had to sign alot of papers but finally the house is now gone. It went to a very nice lady who I am sure will take good care of it. It was a very emotional day for me because the signing took place on the 3 month anniversary of your death exactly to the day as well. I know you were looking down upon me as I did the transaction and made sure things went very smooth just the way you would of wanted it to go.

I miss you extremely very much and miss all of those phone calls that you used to make to me even if it was just to say hello. Please say hi to mom for me as I know you are with her now and I am sure that she looks just as beautiful as she was the day you first met her. Thank you for looking down upon myself, Rachel, Darryn, Dylan, Hayley and Gavin. It means alot that you protect us each and every day.

Rest In Peace as I know you are doing right now. You have no more pain or discomfort and I know that you are truly at peace with yourself. I miss you alot and keep things in order up there the way you alwasy did down here.

Love you dad and miss you

May 29, 2007

Hi Dad:

Just want to let you know that we payed tribute to you yesterday May 28th for Memorial Day as we visited your grave site and put American Flags all around it.

Gavin, Rachel and Hayley went along and helped out. Gavin put one of the flags in the ground for you and it was really hard trying to explain that you are not around anymore, but are now up in heaven with mom. As we were driving down to the cemetary yesterday, we listened to your interview that you did with Steve one year ago and you sounded absolutley marvelous. Gavin even said, "THATS GRANDPA JOE" It was good to hear your voice talking about your military career that you had for over 40 years in The United States Army.

I wish you could be here today to celebrate your 87th birthday in just a few short days but unfortunatly the angels needed someone to straighten things out up in heaven and they could not have called a better person than Col. Joseph Nine.

So in closing, I miss you alot, keep law and order up in heaven, and keep looking down upon all of us..... I love you alot and you will always be in my thoughts for the rest of my life.

Your Son:

Happy Memorial Day Joe! Today Evan, myself, Hayley and Gavin went down to the cementary to put flags there for you. Gavin put them in the ground, he kept asking where you were and he wanted to see you. Evan and I explained as best as we could to a four year old that you were in heaven and that you are watching down on him. Today is a day of honor and we honor you Joe for all that you have done for this country as well as your family. On the way down to the cementary the interview that you did last year played again on the radio...Gavin knew it was you....he said "thats Grandpa Joe"....You were an amazing man to whom we all miss...I know that Evan misses you a lot....We all know that you are in a better place and that you are not in any pain and that you are with Beatrice again..but we still miss you.....We love you very much......Love....Rachel

Evan and Family,

We share in your loss as we know how close you were to him. What is important to remember is the contribution your Dad made to this earth. He certainly made a difference and we are sure when he met our maker, he was greeted with a salute and the words that included "a job well done kind and loyal servant". We should all rejoice his life and his memory as he now prays for all of us.
