My Dear Friends, Diana, Megan and Kelsey,
On this, Rick's 58th birthday, I wanted to send a special hug and prayer to you all that the good Lord might hold you tightly in his hand as you grieve the earthly loss of an amazing husband/father. Rick was a shining light in my life and a great Christian example to me in the years that I needed it most. His calm nature, honesty, dry wit and willingness to just sit and talk were what I enjoyed most about him. He will always be remembered and missed. Love you all and many hugs and prayers to you as you continue to grieve.

Dear Diana,
We are so saddened to hear of your loss and you have been in our thoughts and prayers during the recent days. As you look into the coming year without Rick by your side, we pray that God's presence will be stronger and more real to you now than ever before. May He continue to comfort you and give you His great strength in the days ahead.
With love in Christ,

Dear Diana, Megan, and Kelsey,
It's a hard time. We've been gone from Ft. Laud. for a number of years now but the memory of Rick remains strong. It comes with a twinkle of his eyes and the taste of chicken sandwiches at ballgames. We loved being around Rick and all of you because it was fun. We are sorry you must continue on without him. May all that he gave come alive in your memories. God has taken him now to the highest place and we are so glad to have known him. God bless you all. We love you. Bob & Laura Van Noord

Dear Diana, Megan, and Kelsey,

Jesus said that He would never leave us comfortless, and I pray with all my heart that you feel the presence of His comfort as you go through this very hard time. When we think of Rick, we think of your lovely family, and all the spirit, help, and fun he brought to FLCS. I remember my first experience with the mother's club, many years ago, when Rick was the featured entertainer and gave us quite a show with his bellydancing. What laughter he brought to many. Our prayers are with you.

Love,
Carol and Steve Mackey

Diana, Megan and Kelsey,
Our family grieves with you over the loss of someone so special. Rick made an impact on all he met. He was often quiet and unassuming, but what he said was not lost on those who listened to him with his wry sense of humor. God is with you all and I am sure Rick is looking down at you all and smiling, so proud of his family. It has been said that what is important is what is between the "dashes", between the birth and death dates. Rick's are certainly full. We rejoice you will see him again in heaven. Our prayers go up to our Lord that He assists you in this time of transition and with His help, you will go forward in peace. Our love to you,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Rick always made us smile. He was such a gift to FLCS and our family. He will be missed. We are thankful he has his healthy body and we will see him again but we will sure miss his presence here. We pray for God to wrap His arms around you and bring you His comfort. We are here for you.

I have such great memories of Mr. Monroe at all the sporting events at FLCS -- especially getting dry ice for our "big games" against Westminster. After we got the news, our family stopped and prayed for your family and then we all began recalling memories we had of Mr. Monroe. My dad commented that Rick was one of those people who could be funny but not let on that he had actually told a joke ... such a straight face. He also recalled all the "boxes" he brought to the Sports Banuqets with humorous "inside jokes" inside. I had forgotten about that.

I loved what Mr. Monroe wrote in his last email -- that his 57 years were more than many people have and he was thankful for them. I want you to know that Diana, Kelsey, Megan, and the rest of Rick's loved ones are in my prayers EVERYDAY and will remain there for a long time.

To Diana, Kelsey and Megan,

Chantal and I express our heartfelt sympathies for the loss of RC. I worked with him for many years and followed RC in Fire Prevention. He always put in 100% for the fire department. As a union officer he was one who always put forth the effort in keeping the local and the FBA on solid ground. I know I don't have to tell you however, to me he is (not was) a good man who loved life and he never hesitated to let us all know his family was his world. RC lives on and will watch over you. His love is in your heart.

May God be with you always Diana, Megan & Kelsey forever.
