To Wilma's family and friends,

I am so sorry for your loss. I just learned of Wilma's passing. I had the opportunity to get to know Wilma (as well as Bill and Angela) in the fall of 1991 when her grandson Ryan was in Scarborough General Hospital. I was a teenager on the same floor as Ryan and spent a lot of time with him thus becoming close with Wilma and some of her family. I remember Wilma as always smiling, despite Ryan's illness. She had a positive attitude and was a lovely person to talk to. She kindly kept my mom and I apprised of Ryan's progress after our simultaneous discharge from SGH and she phoned us to let us know of his passing. We kept in touch for a while after that but sadly lost touch. I know that she will be missed deeply by our family and our heartfelt condolences go out to yours in your time of grief.

RIP Wilma. Say hi to Ryan for me please.

I am so sorry for your lose. Wilma was such a wonderful friend to my mother Anne Smyth. She was such a warm loving person. I had many conversations with her myself as well as many careing emails from her when my mother was in the hospital. It didn't matter if you were up or down Wilma always made us laugh. We will miss her dearly.
The memory of her will live forever in our hearts.

Wilma and family
We were so shocked to hear the sad news. I am Joan's brother. While I did not see the family often over the past many years we were always kept informed by Joan until her sudden passing. I fondly remember my days hanging out at the Shannon's when Hank was alive. Hank was like a big brother to me, taking me fishing and hunting and just hanging around. They loved pitching horse shoes. Some games would go on all day. Wilma was often around during those days. I really liked her. She was warm and thoughtful and remembered things that would be overlooked by most.
Our deepest sympathies. God bless.

Earl, Lynn, Bill, Bonnie and Ed: We were so shocked to hear that Wilma was taken ill and had passed away (and so quickly). We have been keeping in touch by email and just a matter of days ago. Wilma and Earl, Helen and Bob and Bill and I go back a lot of years. We often talked about the great times and all the laughs we had at dances, bowling and get togethers at picnics and parties with the kids. It's just not going to be the same without her. Even though we mainly connect through emails or greeting cards these days it was fun to see her greeting to Bill with her nickname for him (Billy Smallcheeks). She was the best.

Our Dear Wilma
She was a sister, a aunt, a cousin, and a grandmother but most of all she was a mother, like her mother before her. She loved her kids, supoorted their choices, cried their tears and enjoyed their triumphs. She will be missed by all, Love brother Doug and Marion

Our deepest sympathy to all the family. Wilma was a beautiful soul with such compassion and she loved her family so very much. We worked together at Imperial Oil so many year ago. The internet united us again and we enjoyed sharing stories about our grandchildren. But look up - there's another Star in Heaven!

All our love to all of you at this time.
My kids and myself were really lucky to know Grandma Wilma. It’s funny how we are remembering all these vivid moments of your mother. She always had a great sense of humour, talked lovingly about all her children (sometimes through sarcasm), and was always the pillar of her family. I had never seen a more devoted 1st time Grandmother in my life. She was supportive to both Bill and Angela when they had Mitchell. Grandma Wilma lit up when ever Mitchell came in the room. There is a video I love to watch of Mitchell very young maybe three being a little bugger, and in the background all you hear is Grandma Wilma laughing and saying “ohhh leave our boy alone”. She pampered and adored him and all her grandchildren. She had the kindest of hearts to really know and understand each of her grandchildren.

She will be missed by all, but has passed on a great spirit through her children and her grandchildren.

Love, Rhonda, Sarah, Madison, John, Rachel, + Grace. (Sheridan/Doiron Family)
P.S. I hope she passed on the art of knitting those cleaning clothes, I've been waiting over 20 years to get one.

Wilma and I have been friends forever, starting from our old Imperial Oil night shift days in Don Mills. She has always been “Aunty” Wilma to Jacqui & Larry.

Although it was harder for us to “see” each other because of the distance we kept in contact by e mail. We were even going to spend a night at Rama when the weather got better.

To Lynn, Bonnie, Bill, Ed & Earl, we share your pain. What a wonderful lady she was; I will miss her terribly. My heart goes out to you all.

Love Fran

Wilma's been a treasured friend to our mom over the years and a wonderful support to her after her car accident last March. Wilma's smile could light up a room, such a beautiful spirit. She made the world a better place just by being in it. Deepest sympathies and love, Deb and Stephana.
