Elizabeth J. Efford

EFFORD, Elizabeth J., 95, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008. She was born April 5, 1913, and grew up in Montross, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, J. Stafford Efford; and is survived by her four children and their spouses, John S. Jr. and Carrie Efford, Roy W. Efford, Anna E. and Nelson Bryant, and David L. and Carolyn Efford; and Udom Nakayuenyongsuk, who was just like a son to her; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Efford was a longtime member of Lakeside Baptist Church. She liked to read, entertain family and friends, and enjoyed gardening. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday. Interment, handled by Welch Funeral, will follow later in the afternoon at Andrew Chapel in Montross, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church.
