Wilton Emmett Gill

GILL, Wilton Emmett, 90, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Seal Gill; and his brother, Arlie Linwood Gill. He is survived by his son, Wilton E. Gill Jr., of New York; daughter, Linda Gill Pickeral and her husband, James; brother, Andrew Watkins Gill; sister, Christy Gill Hartsock; two grandsons, Travis Pickeral and his wife, Meg, and Tyler Pickeral, all of Richmond. Mr. Gill was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was awarded the Combat Infantry Medal, the European Theatre Battle Ribbon and the Bronze Star. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Vets and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 17, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where a memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to the Disabled American Vets or First Baptist Church Congregational Care Ministry.
