Rebecca C. Davis

DAVIS, Rebecca C., 86, of Richmond, departed this life on earth, August 17, 2008 to be with her parents, Gladine and Charles Ashby Porter; one sister, Odel Olender; one brother, Cecil Porter and many lifelong friends and neighbors to go to that home not built with hands for eternity in Heaven. Her loved ones to follow later, include a son, Larry W. Chitty and "Cookie" Gills; two grandchildren and their spouses, Donna and Bill Craver and Donald and Mary Chitty; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Bailey Craver, Evelyn and Ella Chitty; four siblings, Anton Porter, Phyllis Garrison of Moseley, Shirley Combs of Powhatan and Betty Jane Hall of Richmond; three stepgrandchildren, Steve A. Gills and wife, Novie, Keith A. Gills, Chris A. Gills and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Hannah and Steven Gills and 23 nieces and nephews; 86 years of lifelong friends and associates. Rebecca's charity for all above to include Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Reverend Gary C. Olsen; and all of our new friends at Johnston-Willis Hospital will long be cherished. The family will receive friends Tuesday (tonight) from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bennett Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rte. 60), Powhatan, and where funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12 noon.
