HENDRICKS, James Edward "Bootsie", passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Fla., formerly of Richmond, Va. Bootsie resided in Palm Harbor with his wife, Barbara Foizey Hendricks of Palm Harbor, Fla.; a brother, Richard Hendricks of Powhatan, Va.; a son, Kenneth Hendricks and his wife, Alison of Richmond, Va.; a stepdaughter, Betsy Marshall Feran of Dunedin, Fla.; a stepson, James E. Marshall III and his wife, Tracy, of Clearwater, Fla. Bootsie is also survived by three other daughters, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Bootsie was an avid NASCAR fan and a Richmond automobile body man for over 50 years. NASCAR has lost one of its greatest workers and fans. Services will be held Friday, August 22, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Morrisette Funeral Home, 6500 Ironbridge Road, Richmond, Va. 23234. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, August 21, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Lung Association in the memory of James Edward "Bootsie" Hendricks. Bob and I are so sorry to hear about Bootsie. He suffered long enough, and the Lord saw fit to take him to a better place. Although he will be missed by all, he has finally made his fulfillment in life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time and that you will find comfort in the days ahead.

My condolences to you, Barbara, and the family. I know how much you love Bootsie and my prayers are with you as you go through this next chapter in your life without him. I pray for your peace in knowing he is no longer suffering. He's probably caught up with some NASCAR drivers in Heaven and they're having a good time talking about racing.
