Barbara Gravins Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch from Aug. 22 to Aug. 24, 2008.
GRAVINS, Barbara R. "Bobbie," 68, of Richmond, ended her fight with cancer August 19, 2008, when she joined her mother and daddy, Charles and Marion Reynolds, in heaven. Bobbie is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jack; her three children, Jay, Alan and wife, Sherri Gravins, and Kim and husband, Dave O'Brien; her five devoted grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Jimmy, Joey and Jenna Gravins, and Jack and Claire O'Brien; two brothers, Charles and wife, Joanne, and Matthew and wife, Bobbie Reynolds; brother-in-law, Tom and wife, Kittie Gravins; and the extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bobbie lived most of her life in Richmond, where she made many lasting friendships. She was especially close with her neighborhood friends, Bridge buddies, Sunday School class, and the T.J. Girls. Bobbie enjoyed her time spent with grandchildren and the planning of many family outings and functions. Her last few days were made especially comfortable by Bon Secours Hospice, notably Debbie Barrett, RN. The family will receive friends Sunday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Bon Secours Hospice or Bon Air Baptist Church Rainbow Class.

Bobbie was so blessed to have lived her life the way it made her the happiest...taking care of family and friends. Bobbie is being richly rewarded for the way she gave of herself to so many.
We will miss Bobbie.
