To Deacon Pace, Mrs. Pace and the Pace and Brice Families:
I was sorry to learn of the passing of Garrick. I knew him as a young child and would often see him at church. I really got to know him during the summer of 1999 when he attended a summer school program in Goochland that I worked with. Garrick was definitely a hardworking, respectable person in and outside the classroom. In recent years, I would see him on occasion and he would tell me how things were going for him in college. His great personality, kind words and smile were definitely an asset and, although his life was short, he turned out to be an outstanding young man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. God only takes the best and I feel that Garrick accomplished in 22 years what it takes most of us a whole lifetime to accomplish in God’s eye. You are in my prayers and thoughts. May God bless you and keep you safe in his care.
Love,
Rev. Bertha Barrett Jackson

Deacon Haywood and Estelle Pace,
I said a prayer of sympathy to the good Lord up above,
To ask him to console you and comfort you with love
I prayed for help to understand the wisdom of his ways
To trust that life is measured by love and not by days
I prayed he would hold your love one
In the hollow of his hand
Filled with perfect peace and joy according to his plan
Until that promised day , when both of you will be
Together in his warm embrace through out Eternity.

To the families of Garrick Pace,
Garrick was such a sweet, quiet and
mannerable young man and he will
be missed by all who knew him.
The Lord has promised to prepare
A place in heaven above -
A home where we will always be
With Him and those we love.
So lift up your heart to the heavens;
There's a loving and kind Father there
Who offers release--comfort and peace--
In the silent communion of prayer.
No bond is as great as that between
a parent and child. Our deepest
condolences are with you as you grieve.

Gary was a fine young man. Well respected by all.
Perhaps his time seemed all too brief but God wanted him now and he had to take His hand when He called him to be with Him in Heaven.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Cherish the fond memories.
God wanted him now, He set him free.
Sincerely,
Vivian Anthony and Family

We understand that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. However, to grieve is human, and we can't help but to be saddened by the loss of a friend. Garrick was always a positive person to be around. He was quiet and to himself, but was a leader in his own right. He stood for what was RIGHT, even if it wasn't POPULAR. Garrick had a way of making things seem "not so bad" and was strong for the sake of others. He exemplified this 3 weeks ago when I ran into him while out running errands. I said, "Pace, where you been at man?" He replied, "I been real sick Vern, but I'M MUCH BETTER NOW." Those words are so powerful because he was smiling as if he was having the best day of his life when he was really dealing with health issues that most people could never imagine. To know Garrick was to love him and we can all take notes from the selfless life that he lived. My thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of sorrow.

To The Pace Family
Garrick was truly a fine young man. We will miss him tremendously from our household - for he would visit Brian during the week and on the weekends. He was Brian's best friend and we loved him as though he was our own son. Mr and Mrs Pace, may God's strength and His comforting word console you during this time. You are in our prayers and if there's anything that we can do, please let us know.

My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Garrick. While shocking and sad, I will always remember his rather quiet manner, great smile and strong desire to work in gardening and landscaping. He was a bright young man with a pleasing personality and we will really miss him. God Bless You All.

I am so sorry for your loss, our loss. Garrick was my co-worker, my friend and my "pick at each other" buddy. The world is poorer without Garrick and I miss him tremendously. I was honored to be considered his friend.
