Alease Jackson Obituary

Published by Mimms Funeral Home from Aug. 28 to Aug. 29, 2008.
JACKSON, Deaconess Alease Alice Stewart, "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. He stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates." Proverbs 31:1, 20, 31. Our mother, found eternal rest and peace on Tuesday, August 26, 2008. She slipped quietly out of this earthly tabernacle and into eternity to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness, which she bore with dignity and love. Our mother was born to the late Joe and Alma Royal Stewart on May 22, 1920 in the Mannboro community of Amelia County, Va. She was educated in the Amelia County Public School System. Early in her childhood, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, and joined the Branches Run Baptist Church. She was a faithful servant of God. As a devoted mother, she reared all of her children with unconditional love and compassion. A strong and loving influence, she was a devoted mother who loved and cared for her family and all those she met. She was a devoted caregiver and nurse's aide with a loyal heart of gold, a friend to all and always willing to help in any way she could. As a devoted wife of 58 years, she faithfully supported her husband in all of his endeavors. For the 46 years of her husband's ministry, she served as a choir member and deaconess until her health failed. A loving wife, she fulfilled her responsibilities with elegance and grace and loved her husband until June 2, 2008, when God called him from labor to reward. Our mother was also preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Robert Stewart. Our mother leaves to continue her legacy and cherish her memory seven children, Sidney M. Ross (Regina), Eve U. Glenn (Billy), Deacon Mark A. Jackson, Dr. Neal N. Jackson (Diane), Minister Charlene Jackson-Gresham (Deacon James), Teresa A. King (Albert), Reverend Dr. Charles J. J. Jackson III (Minister Alaine); 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Mary Brown, Alma Threatt (William), Myrtle Scott (William), Sadie Jefferson (Thomas Jr.); devoted sister-in-law, Daisy Rudd; dear friends, Helen Harris, Helen Epps, Helen Moseley, Chermaine Booker; one spiritual adopted son, Reverend Corey Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull Street. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 12 p.m., at Branches Run Baptist Church, 3830 Woodley Drive, Moseley, Va. (Amelia County). Dr. Richard Bailey officiating. Eulogy by Dr. Charles Jackson III and Dr. Neal Jackson. Interment Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

To The Family,
I shall always hold dear the sweet memories of shared meals, laughter, and most of all prayers with your mother and father. They lived extraordinary lives as devoted followers of Christ and did not hesitate to share His love with us. Thank you for sharing them with us. Mrs. Jackson was always such a quiet, strong presence- indeed a virtuous woman in all she endured in her earthly life. Our love to each of you and we shall continue to pray for your strength and that you shall find solace in sweet memories and in His truth. God Bless you and if we may help you in any way, please let us know. Daphne, John, and Jasmine
