Billy and I were 'high school sweeties' for a while. His handsome and lovable self were hard to resist. We eventually went our separate ways, but always kept up through the grapevine. I was glad he married a woman of the 'horse world' and had three children, and realized his dream of being a horse trainer. Billy was a lovely man and deserved a happy and accomplished life.

Mr. Donovan was a wonderful father-in-law and a wonderful grandfather to my children. We will miss him and will continue to keep his memories alive. I will always remember his racetrack stories and his love and dedication to horse racing. He always seemed to find the good in everyone, even when it was at his own expense. I spoke with him a few days before his passing and he still displayed his incredible sense of humor. It was evident to me that he was determined to make his passing as easy as he could for the family, joking to the very end. His accomplishments in the horse racing industry will live on for many years to come and he will continue to be admired and remembered by many. We feel blessed to have been a part of his life and we know that he will be watching over us. He always used to say, " I love ya Babe." It is a comfort to know that one day we will meet up with him again, and hear those sweet words one more time.

Donna, The years fly by. A friend in Richmond phoned me today to tell me about Bill. I remember meeting you years ago when i was Butch's girlfriend. Many many years have passed but I remember you with fondness. I'm sure you will deal with your loss in your own time and in your own way. Best to you from Montana, where I live on a mountain and watch the world go by except when I'm out in it, chasing my dreams. Take care and best wishes to you and to your family.

Dear Donna
I just heard the sad news. It's been a long time but I will always remember the good times. Bill was a great friend who would literally give you the shirt off his back. If he had it and you needed it, he would give it to you.
My love to you and your family.
