Dear Lee Ann,
I am so sorry for your lost. I do not have the words to tell you what is exactly on my mind. I am deeply saddened and regret that this is the way I am getting in touch with you after all these years. My heart goes out to you and your family and I wish you all the best in these painful times. I only wish I could do more. Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting her, I had heard nothing but how an amazing person she was.

Pastor Randy, LeeAnn and family,
I haven't seen you since you moved to Culpeper but as you know word travels really fast in small towns. I was shocked and saddened to hear about Kelsey. I know The Lord will give you the strength to continue on. You helped me in so many ways when I came to Riverton and helped me to become the Christian that I am today. You are in my thoughts daily and know that prayer, as you always told me, can change lives. I guess what i am trying to say is that as you heal from the loss you'll see all the joy that Kelsey brought to so many lives. Lots of times we don't know who they touched until years later and then it brings a smile and memories back again of what a great person and inspiration Kelsey was.

Dear LeeAnn,
Years ago we lived in Mechanicsville in a neighborhood where very little of the world crept in and hurt us. Our parents rallied together in the good times and the bad. Most of the old neighborhood friends don't see each other often or share in the daily routines of each others lives, but I believe that there is a kind caring that still exists among the friends of long ago. The news of your loss reached me and my family just days after the accident and it is with the most sorrowful heart that I lift my prayers heavenward so that you may have healing and peace in this mournful time. Twenty five years have passed since I was part of that lighthearted world and although the majority of those years have been filled with great blessing and much laughter, we have all faced sorrow, but I have never experienced the kind of pain you and your family must be feeling now. Cling to one another during your time of grief and let God heal your hearts.
Blessings to you and yours,
Susan Nuckols Davis and Family

Orndorff family,
It was truly a blessing knowing Kelsey. And of course, you all already know how amazing she was. Everyone knows. :) She touched so many lives in so many ways. She was truly a gift from God. And she will be missed greatly. Its just hard to believe that she's gone. She's the reason I even started playing basketball back in 5th grade. And I'm still going to keep playing. And give it my all just like she taught me! She was just so awesome. I was incredibly blessed just getting to know her for the few years I did. I just want to say thanks. And I'm praying for you all. May God bless you and your family. I know Kelsey blessed me! She will never be forgotten! She left a legacy that will carry on forever. I just hope I can meet more people like her!

Randy, LeeAnn & boys,

May heart and prayers are with you all at this time of loss. How could I have known when you blessed me with your love and support at the loss of my beloved Aaron in 1989, that this need to return the love would present itself. The loss of a beloved child is life's greatest pain; but God is a loving God and he will sustain you in His own blessed peace. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help....an understanding ear to share is sometime a very good thing. May God bless each of you in his own special way.

To Jordan, Josh, LeeAnne and Randy:
We were so blessed to know Kelsey and I remember her sucking her thumb at Riverton when she was a baby! We also spent recent times with Kelsey at Impact the Valley. Jordan enjoyed playing at the pool with Kelsey and meeting the other kids from the Culpeper Youth Group. I will always remember her testimony that last night about being thankful when going back to your cabins that are cramped and filled with spiders, because they were much better than the homes that they had worked in all week. What insight and wisdom she had. God loves you all. We're praying for you all daily.

Hope
Dear Randy, LeeAnne, Josh and Jordan,
My most recent memory of Kelsey was of the Day a few years ago when the Johnson’s littlest granddaughter was christened. After the Beautiful Service we all retired to have the buffet at a local restaurant in Culpeper. During the course of the conversation LeeAnne asked how I came to know the Johnson’s. Ruth’s sister and I shared our story about horseback riding through the wild mountains together 20+years ago near their home when it was in Huntly, Va.
Your beautiful daughter was sitting next to me and eagerly hanging on every work as we shared our youthful exploits. I remember Kelsey’s face: Youthful exuberance, yet so much poise. And she was wonderfully polite too. She said ,” I want to learn to ride horses.;” Of course Lee Anne responded in the way a lot parents do with a very firm “no”.
As I stood in my kitchen Saturday afternoon remembering her ,verses of promise from God’s word flooded over me. I remembered that there is a huge audience of saints watching us from heaven and cheering us on. And that when Jesus returns he will come riding on a white horse and all the saints went before us will be riding on white horses following along behind him. So this is Kelsey: new body, caught up with Christ, cheering us on, knowing things we still have questions about, and returning again with Jesus!
Yes, we don’t know the purpose. We feel the anguish at missing her. We know this too that he who began a good work in her will be faithful to complete it. I rejoice with you over her victory in Christ Jesus and I share with you the Loss, I cling to the memory of all she attained and yet trust in the Hope of the Cross.
Much Love,
Your sister in Christ, Linda Martin

This is a pain greater than no other. I am a sister a brother who passed away at 17. It has been since 1995 and feels as if it were yesterday. Though you never will get "over" this, you will learn to get "through". May God bless this family and the young ones left behind who may not fully understand. Show them Kelsey is in a free from pain place, where the love is so grand. Guide this family through the mourning and into happiness. From a stranger, I feel the pain. God Bless you in this time of worry and sorrow.

Randy & Lee Anne and Famiily:

We are so sad to hear the news about Kelsey. RJ and Kelsey were the same in age... It just seems like yesterday we all were watching our children playing basketball and Kelsey was scoring as she did best. Randy as we listen to you so many times at church when a brother or sister lost a dear love one. When you told us we do not know how or why this happened as you would led us in prayers and the only thing in God's world is time and knowing that Kelsey is in heaven. For the family that is left behind you have so many friends and church family members that love you each of you and will help you get threw this terrible tregedy.....

Randy and Lee Anne you two comfort thousand of chruch members threw the years of your ministering and now let the love of God help you get threw this. One day soon we all will be together until that day Kelsey will be waiting.

There is nothing that hurts this bad. All the wonderful words and hopes your friends have for you help -but it still hurts. Just over 2 years ago my family was right there after loosing our 17yo daughter. Know that there is another side of this - thru faith and friends we struggle thru. In time the hurt dulls - not that it goes away - it dulls a bit and function returns. Hold each other tight as you can - there are no rules on how to do this. Our children are supposed to bury us - not the other way around. If there is anything at all a stranger can do - please say so.
