LITCH, Christine Tisdale, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, died August 31, 2008 in Northbrook, Illinois, of complications from Alzheimer's Disease. Christine was born July 30, 1923 at Wattsboro in Lunenburg County, Va. to Alvan and Ray Tisdale, the youngest of 10 children. Christine graduated from Victoria High School in 1940 as class salutatorian and subsequently worked for First and Merchant's bank in Richmond, Va. She married Joseph Litch of Richmond on January 28, 1956, and the ceremony took place in Victoria at the home of her sister, Berenice and brother-in-law, Winfred. Christine and her husband lived in Henrico County on Richmond's west side until 1973 and in the suburbs of Baltimore, Md. from 1973 to 2006. Due to Alzheimer's, she resided in assisted living facilities the last 2.5 years of her life. Christine was a member of several churches over the years, including Reedy Chapel in Lunenburg County, Calvary Presbyterian Church in Richmond, First Presbyterian Church in Randallstown, Md. and Bethany United Methodist Church in Ellicott City, Md. Christine is survived by her husband, Joe; son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Bonnie; granddaughters, Arden and Emma; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Clarke Funeral Home, Kenbridge, Va. Interment in the Kenbridge Cemetery. The family encourages donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue., Fl 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601-7633.
