Betty Lou Wood Wells

WELLS, Betty Lou Wood, 78, of Bumpass, died Monday, September 1, 2008, at her residence. She was born April 20, 1930, in Martinsville, and was a daughter of the late Walter Bennett Wood and Emma Dillon Hilton Wood. She was a member of the Elk Creek Baptist Church in Mineral. Mrs. Wells is survived by her husband, George Collier Wells Jr. of Bumpass; two daughters, Betty Lane Cope and husband, Rick, of Kents Store, Emily Mazure and husband, Peter, of Chesterfield; two sons, Walter Michael Wells and wife, Connie, of Pembroke, Charles David Wells of Cudjoe Key, Fla.; one sister, Patricia Kirkland and husband, Greg, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Morgan, Connor, Steven, Alex, Sara, Lindsey, Chris; and one great-grandson, J.D. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville, officiated by Rev. Gerald Chancellor and assistant, his wife, Fran. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Interment is private.
